New York Regents Grant a Charter to the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame

At their meeting on 24 April 2012 the New York State regents granted a charter to the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame as a virtual museum.

As a virtual museum, the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame will working toward achieving its mission statement and will continue to capture and report on the history of the sport of Athletics in the Niagara District.

Mission statement

The Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame will provide a vehicle through which exceptional individuals involved in the sport of Athletics from the Niagara Association can be honored and their accomplishments and contributions can be recognized. As part of its efforts to honor such individuals, the Hall of Fame will capture the history of the sport of Athletics in the Niagara Association and outside the Niagara Association where people from this region have been involved and participated. Further, the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame will publicize events and activities using as many methods as possible. Included in this effort to publicize the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame will be educational activities involving the elected members of the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame and their accomplishments.
