Rochester, NY: Below is the 2018 Watch List for the Charles H. Moore, Jr. Award (single season team of the Year).

Nominations are accepted from any interested individual or group. Use our nomination form to submit any nomination(s). The nomination form is linked below.

The list of finalists for each of the annual awards will be announced in July.

The finalists (top 3) will be selected from these lists of semifinalists by a panel of area coaches, participants, and nationally-based historians and statisticians.

The winner of all eight of Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame annual awards are selected by the same panel of area coaches, participants, and nationally-based historians and statisticians.

The 2018 Annual Awards winners will be announced in late August or early September 2018.

About the Charles H. Moore, Jr. Award

The Charles H. Moore, Jr., which debuted in 2012, is presented annually by the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame to the outstanding Single Season Team of the Year from the Niagara Association.

Charles H. Moore, Jr., a member of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2000, who competed for Cornell University and is an Olympic Gold Medalist (1952 400-meter hurdles) and Silver Medalist in the 4x400-meter relay. He set two World Records in the 440-yard hurdles. Moore, who was undefeated in the 400-meter/440-yard hurdles for his career, is a four time US Champion in the 400 meter hurdles and set five US Records over various distances.

The Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame Annual Awards program was developed to bring some well deserved recognition to the outstanding high school and college athletes and teams, and the top high school coach from the Niagara Association.

About the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame

Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame and Virtual Museum is provisionally chartered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York. The purpose of the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame and Virtual Museum is to recognize those individuals who made significant and outstanding contributions to the Sport of Athletics (including Track & Field, Long Distance Running, Race Walking, and Cross Country Running) while living within the geographic boundaries (New York State West of and including the counties of Oswego, Onondaga, Cortland, and Broome) of the Niagara Association as athletes (including Masters), coaches, and/or administrators (including Competition Officials).
